Recent Arrests and Incidents in Jacksonville
Several arrests and disturbances have been reported in Jacksonville over the past few days, highlighting ongoing issues with public safety and law enforcement. Below is a detailed summary of the incidents that have taken place.
Arrests for Disorderly Conduct and Theft
On Sunday at 1:33 a.m., two men from Jacksonville were cited for disorderly conduct after an alleged fight occurred at West Diamond Alley and South West Street. The individuals involved were a 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old man.
A 38-year-old woman was arrested at the same location on a prior retail theft charge. Additionally, a 49-year-old woman was taken into custody at 12:06 a.m. for driving while her license was suspended.
Another arrest occurred on Saturday at 10:31 a.m. when a 49-year-old man was detained for violating an order of protection. He also faced charges of resisting a peace officer.
On Friday evening, a 43-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were arrested for criminal trespassing near West Morton Avenue. A 39-year-old woman was also taken into custody for retail theft in the 200 block of West Morgan Street.
A 56-year-old man was arrested on a Schuyler County warrant related to failing to appear in court on a driving under the influence charge.
Disturbances Reported Across the City
Police responded to several disturbances throughout the city. At 12:50 a.m. on Sunday, officers were called to South Kosciusko Street due to a report of a disturbance. Although no actual disturbance was found, one individual was yelling at a dog.
On Saturday at 10:22 p.m., a disturbance was reported at West Lafayette Avenue and North Diamond Street. Those involved were separated by authorities. Another incident occurred at 2:24 p.m. on Saturday in the 200 block of West Beecher Avenue, where those involved were advised to separate if they could not get along.
At 8:55 p.m. on Friday, police were called to the Jacksonville Public Library due to a man destroying property in the parking lot. The man left without issue upon the arrival of officers.
Other disturbances included reports on Friday at 12:34 p.m. in the 200 block of South Church Street and at 12:07 p.m. in the 500 block of North Church Street. Both times, those involved were separated before officers arrived.
A report of a man threatening people with a baseball bat was made at 9:55 a.m. on Friday in the 200 block of West Independence Avenue. Officers determined it was a verbal altercation and advised those involved to stay separated if they could not get along.
Additional Reports and Incidents
On Saturday at 1:53 a.m., a woman was found lying in a parking lot in the 300 block of West State Street. She was sleeping and was checked by emergency medical personnel before being taken home.
Arrests in Greene County and White Hall
In Greene County, an 18-year-old man from White Hall was booked into the Greene County Jail at 1:05 p.m. on Thursday for a retail theft charge. A 49-year-old man from Cottage Hills was also booked into the jail at 3:10 a.m. for failing to appear in court on a warrant.
White Hall Police reported additional arrests. A 23-year-old man was booked into the Greene County Jail at 10:14 p.m. on Thursday for failing to appear in court. A 61-year-old woman was also taken into custody at 3:50 p.m. for possession of methamphetamine.
