Victims Identified in Double Homicide at Devil's Den State Park

Authorities have identified the victims of a double homicide that occurred at Devil's Den State Park. The deceased include 43-year-old Clinton David Brink and 41-year-old Cristen Amanda Brink, who were found dead on a walking trail on Saturday afternoon. According to Arkansas State Police (ASP), the couple was hiking with their two daughters, aged 7 and 9, when they were attacked. Fortunately, the children were not injured and are currently safe with family members.

The Brink family had recently relocated to Prairie Grove from another state. Their statement to ABC News emphasized the need for privacy during this difficult time as they grieve and adjust to their new reality. They also urged anyone with information that could aid the investigation to contact the authorities immediately. The family expressed that Clinton and Cristen died as heroes while protecting their daughters, and they are seeking justice for their loved ones.

Description of the Suspect

Arkansas State Police is actively searching for the suspect, who is described as a white man. Investigators noted that the individual was wearing a long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up, dark pants, a dark ballcap, and sunglasses. He was also seen carrying a black backpack and wearing fingerless gloves.

According to police, the suspect was last seen driving toward a park exit in a black, four-door sedan. Authorities believe the vehicle could be a Mazda with a license plate that was covered by electrical or duct tape. The car may have been traveling on either State Highway 170 or State Highway 220 near the park.

The FBI in Little Rock has confirmed that it is in communication with Arkansas State Police during the investigation and is prepared to offer assistance if needed. The FBI stated that it routinely supports law enforcement partners by providing additional manpower and specialized resources when necessary.

Park Status and Investigation Update

On Sunday, Devil's Den State Park announced that all its walking trails are closed, but the pool and picnic areas remain open. As of Sunday morning, Arkansas State Police’s criminal investigation department had completed its work at the park.

Governor's Statement

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Sanders released a statement on Saturday evening expressing deep sorrow over the incident. She mentioned that the state is in close contact with State Police and the Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism as they work to apprehend the suspect. Gov. Sanders also said she is praying for the family and friends of the victims and is confident that law enforcement will not rest until the perpetrator is brought to justice.
