Two days after the arrest, at least nine individuals, including one youth detainee, were hospitalized due to exposure to an unknown substance.

Another incident occurred when a contract worker, hired through Apple One, was detained for attempting to bring a concealed blade and pepper spray into the facility during a security screening. These incidents highlight the ongoing challenges in maintaining safe and secure conditions for youth in the system.

County Supervisor Janice Hahn, whose district includes Los Padrinos, expressed strong support for the receivership.
