Sebastian Muñoz Claims Victory at 2025 LIV Golf Indianapolis

Sebastian Muñoz made history by claiming his first LIV Golf title at the 2025 LIV Golf Indianapolis event. The win came after a thrilling playoff against Jon Rahm, who once again fell short in a championship showdown. Muñoz's victory at The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield, Indiana, marked a significant milestone in his career.

Muñoz started the tournament with a remarkable performance, shooting a 59 in the first round—the third sub-60 round in LIV Golf history. His consistent play throughout the 54-hole event saw him tie Rahm at 22-under par, setting up an intense final showdown on the 18th hole of the playoff. Muñoz secured the win with a birdie, while Rahm was left to settle for second place.

Dustin Johnson finished in third place, recording a total of 20-under par. The prize money for the individual competition was substantial, with Muñoz taking home $4 million from the $20 million purse.

Key Notes from the Event

Despite his victory, Muñoz did not earn any Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points. This is because OWGR does not award points for 54-hole events that are considered developmental. All 54 players completed the event, which was the 13th of the season, and there were no cuts.

In the season-long individual points race, Jon Rahm maintained his lead, surpassing five-time winner Joaquin Niemann for the top spot. Rahm took home $18 million, while Niemann earned $8 million for second place. Bryson DeChambeau finished in third, earning $4 million.

Six players were relegated from the LIV Golf League for 2026 due to their poor performance in the points standings. These players included Henrik Stenson, Andy Ogletree, Mito Pereira, Yubin Jang, Anthony Kim, and Frederik Kjettrup.

Team Competition Results

The team competition also had its highlights. The Torque team emerged victorious, winning the team playoff and securing $3 million for their franchise. The team members—Muñoz, Niemann, Carlos Ortiz, and Mito Pereira—shared in the prize money. The Legion XIII team finished second, earning $1.5 million, while the Fireballs took third place with $500,000.
