This model draws inspiration from the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket and LIV Golf, featuring city-based teams, entertainment-packed match days, and seven-figure salaries for stars.

The potential recruitment war between the NRL and R360 is already heating up. Several NRL players have been linked to the new competition. For instance, Newcastle Knights star Kalyn Ponga is seen as a major target due to his openness to exploring options outside rugby league. Ryan Papenhuyzen, the Melbourne Storm fullback, is reportedly considering a multi-million dollar offer as his current deal ends in 2026. New Zealand Warriors star Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has also attracted interest, with reports suggesting he could receive a contract worth around $1.5 million per season.

Nathan Cleary, the Panthers’ premiership-winning halfback, is another marquee name being circled, with speculation about a potential $3 million annual offer—figures well beyond what the NRL salary cap can accommodate. This development highlights the growing competition for top talent and the potential shift in the landscape of rugby leagues.
