Simon Cowell’s Unexpected Reality Show Interest

Simon Cowell, the iconic judge on Britain's Got Talent and X Factor, is often seen behind a desk, offering sharp critiques of aspiring performers. However, according to a close friend, the 65-year-old music mogul had a different idea for himself—participating in an extreme challenge show.

Lucy Spraggan, who gained fame on X Factor and later became friends with Cowell, revealed that he was intrigued by the idea of taking part in SAS: Who Dares Wins. The show, known for its physically and mentally demanding challenges, has attracted a variety of celebrities, and Lucy is set to join this year’s lineup.

Speaking to the Sun, Lucy shared that Cowell had given her his blessing to take part in the series. She said, “He knows I love being outdoors. We do a lot of shooting air rifles and stuff together, so he knows this is my thing, testing my mental resilience.”

But there was a funny twist when Cowell suggested he might try it himself. Lucy recalled the moment with humor, saying, “He told me, ‘Oh, maybe I’ll try and have a go at it.’ I told him he would literally die.” She added that the comment highlighted just how tough the show is.

Lucy also joked about suggesting Cowell’s wife, Lauren Silverman, might have a chance. “I said to her at dinner the other day, ‘You should have a go. She could do it, it would be funny.’”

A Star-Studded Lineup for This Year’s Series

This year’s edition of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins features a diverse group of celebrities ready to face the challenges. Channel 4 has chosen a wide range of stars from football, reality TV, and even individuals with unique stories.

Among the participants are figures like Michaella McCollum, who gained notoriety as one of the “Peru Two” drug smugglers, and Rebecca Loos, who was once rumored to have had a fling with David Beckham. Loos served as Beckham’s personal assistant in 2003 and claimed they had a four-month affair. While Beckham dismissed the rumors as “ludicrous,” he never took legal action against the story.

Rebecca Loos has since appeared on shows like The Farm and Love Island, before stepping back from the spotlight. Now, she’s a yoga teacher in Norway. On her return to television, she expressed her desire to be authentic. “I just wanted to show people who I am and just be myself, which has always been my thing. And I just went in it with a very open mind and take it as it comes.”

Other Notable Celebrities Joining the Challenge

In addition to Loos, the lineup includes former Premier League footballer Troy Deeney and Love Island star Adam Collard. Their participation adds to the excitement of the upcoming season, which promises to be as intense as ever.

Fans can expect to see some dramatic moments, especially when Loos faces a grilling over her past relationship with Beckham. The show is expected to bring out the best—and worst—of its participants as they push their limits in a high-stakes environment.

With such a mix of personalities, the series is sure to deliver plenty of drama, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Whether it’s Cowell’s humorous suggestion to join the challenge or the return of familiar faces like Loos, this year’s SAS: Who Dares Wins is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated seasons yet.
