CIA Director Speaks on Ongoing Russiagate Investigation

During a recent interview on Fox News, CIA Director John Ratcliffe provided insights into the ongoing Russiagate investigation, hinting at potential future legal actions. The discussion centered around the broader implications of the investigation and the need for accountability.

A Call for Accountability

Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard released what she described as “overwhelming evidence” suggesting that former President Barack Obama and his national security team were involved in the creation and politicization of intelligence following President Donald Trump’s 2016 election victory. This revelation has sparked significant debate about the integrity of the intelligence community during that period.

In an appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo,” Ratcliffe emphasized the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions. He highlighted the necessity of ensuring that those responsible for the alleged hoax face consequences.

“That’s why I’ve made the referrals that I have. DNI Gabbard has made referrals. And why we’re going to continue to share the intelligence that would support the ability of our Department of Justice to … bring fair and just claims against those who have perpetrated this hoax against the American people and this stain on our country,” Ratcliffe stated.

Addressing Concerns About Motives

Ratcliffe addressed concerns that the investigation into Russiagate was driven by vengeance. He argued that Trump’s re-election reflected the American public's desire for accountability and transparency regarding what he called a hoax.

“And I think that’s why you see the left losing their minds over this, Maria, saying, why are you spending time? This is vindictive. You’re going back. This is Donald Trump, you know, seeking retribution. It’s not. Donald Trump’s election by the American people was a statement, Maria. They said to everyone, we know what you did to Donald Trump, and we reelected him because we know this was all fake,” Ratcliffe explained.

Understanding the Mechanisms Behind the Hoax

The director also stressed the importance of understanding how the alleged hoax was executed. He suggested that the declassification process currently underway is crucial for uncovering the truth and preventing similar incidents in the future.

“We know it was a hoax. Now we want to understand how you did it so that it can’t happen again. And that’s what this declassification process that we’re undergoing right now, what’s going on, why it’s so important, and why there can be accountability and preventability to prevent these same people that did it in 2016 with the Steele dossier, with the Hunter Biden laptop in 2020 from doing it again in the future,” the CIA director added.

Evidence of Potential Perjury

A June CIA memo suggests that former CIA Director John Brennan and FBI Director James Comey may have perjured themselves while testifying under oath. Both officials had previously claimed that the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA), which concluded that Russian President Vladimir Putin interfered in the 2016 election to favor Trump, was not based on the Steele dossier.

However, Gabbard released a memo that directly contradicts their claims, revealing a different narrative. The document questions the integrity of their statements and whether they misled lawmakers about the dossier’s role in the assessment.

Conclusion

As the investigation continues, the focus remains on uncovering the truth behind the alleged intelligence misconduct and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable. The ongoing efforts highlight the importance of transparency and the need for a thorough examination of past events to prevent future occurrences.
