Oklahoma State Superintendent Denies Allegations of Nudity in Office

Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters has strongly denied allegations that nudity was shown in his office during a recent board meeting, calling the claims an "outright lie." The accusations have sparked a significant backlash and raised questions about the integrity of the Oklahoma State Board of Education.

During a news conference on Tuesday, Walters described the allegations as a "nastiest, biggest lie ever lodged at an official in Oklahoma." He claimed the accusations were part of a coordinated effort to undermine his character and obstruct the educational vision for the state. "This has been a coordinated attack to crucify my character and to try to stop the will of Oklahomans and their vision of education in the state of Oklahoma," he stated.

Walters even questioned whether Governor Kevin Stitt had encouraged the board members to make these allegations. "These board members have a lot to answer for, and so does the governor of the state of Oklahoma," he said. "Did he direct these board members to lie about me?"

The allegations emerged after members of the Oklahoma State Board of Education claimed that nude women were shown on a television in Walters' office. However, Walters firmly denied these claims, stating that no devices were used to stream content to the television. "Any suggestion that a device of mine was used to stream inappropriate content on the television set is categorically false," he said in a statement over the weekend. "I have no knowledge of what was on the TV screen during the alleged incident, and there is absolutely no truth to any implication of wrongdoing."

The Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) has asked the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office to investigate the allegations and determine if any illegal activities occurred. "OMES did reach out to us. They asked us to look into it, and that's exactly what we're going to do," said Aaron Brilbeck, with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office.

Despite the ongoing investigation, Walters claimed during the news conference that OMES and the sheriff's office had cleared him of any wrongdoing. However, less than an hour before the news conference began, the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office issued a statement saying that the "investigation is still in its infancy, so it would be inappropriate to discuss who we plan to speak with or any evidence we are seeking."

Oklahoma lawmakers have also called for more details into the matter. State Rep. Dick Lowe, the House Education Committee chair, said, "We're going to do the investigation on it." Lowe was present during the executive session where the incident allegedly occurred but left before the board members brought attention to the inappropriate material.

"I did talk to both of those board members, individually. I called them. We talked just to confirm what I had been hearing, make sure we knew what we were talking and what we were hearing was true," Lowe said.

The situation has drawn significant public attention, with many questioning the motives behind the allegations and the potential impact on the state's educational system. As the investigation continues, the focus remains on uncovering the truth and ensuring transparency in the process.
