KVEA-TV made history by winning the categories for regularly scheduled daily morning, daytime, and evening newscasts. These awards are given to stations that consistently deliver high-quality news content throughout the day. Alongside KVEA, KMEX also achieved a strong showing, earning seven Emmys in total. This reflects the growing influence of Spanish-language television in the region.

Other notable winners included KABC-TV and KTLA-TV, which each secured three Emmys. Spectrum News 1 and Spectrum SportsNet LA also shared the spotlight, each receiving two awards. The event featured a wide range of categories, including Live and Breaking News Coverage, Crime and Social Issues, Culture and History, the Arts, Health and Science, Human Interest, Music, Sports, and the Environment.

Notable Award Recipients

One of the most prestigious honors of the night was the Governors Award, which was presented to Jim Hill. He was recognized for his five-decade-long career in broadcasting and his 45 years as a sportscaster at KCBS/KCAL in Los Angeles. The award was presented by James Worthy, a former Los Angeles Lakers star, highlighting the crossover between sports and media.
