Another victim was Wesley LePatner, a Blackstone executive. She was identified as the Global Head of Core+ Real Estate and the Chief Executive Officer of Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust. LePatner had been with the investment company since 2014.

Blackstone released a statement expressing deep sorrow, calling her “brilliant, passionate, warm, generous, and deeply respected within our firm and beyond.” The statement also mentioned that she leaves behind her husband and children.

Aland Etienne: A Dedicated Security Guard

Aland Etienne, a security guard working at 345 Park Avenue, was also among the victims. He was represented by the union 32BJ SEIU, which expressed devastation over the news of the shooting.

Manny Pastreich, President of 32BJ SEIU, stated, “Every time a security officer puts on their uniform, they put their lives on the line.” Etienne, who had worked at the building since 2019, was described as a dedicated officer who took his duties seriously.

Pastreich added that Etienne’s death highlights the sacrifices made by security personnel to keep New Yorkers and buildings safe. He called Etienne a “New York hero” and emphasized the essential role of such workers.
