Qalinle Ibrahim Dirie, 42, was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct after he allegedly abducted the girl from her backyard and raped her in June 2024. During an interview at CornerHouse, a facility that provides services for cases of suspected child sexual abuse, the girl revealed that she often saw the man driving by her home in a white car. The girl claimed that he picked her up and forced her into his car, striking her head in the process. She said the blow made her feel dizzy and disoriented. He then drove a few blocks and sexually assaulted her in the backseat before she managed to escape and run home.
