Kenny Thanks JaNa for Love Island Journey Despite Split

Kenny Rodriguez Opens Up About His Split from JaNa Craig
Kenny Rodriguez, 24, has shared his thoughts following his breakup with JaNa Craig. In a heartfelt message posted on his Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 29, he expressed the emotional struggle of ending their relationship. "The past few days have been incredibly difficult. I've been quietly sitting with a lot of emotions and doing my best to process everything privately," he said.
He added, "Breakups are never easy, especially in the public eye. Sometimes, despite how deeply you care for someone, you come to the hard truth that the relationship was not something that could last long-term." Despite the pain, Kenny emphasized his gratitude for the time they spent together. "I'll always be grateful for the time we shared and the memories we created. I release this chapter with no ill will, only a hope that JaNa's path forward brings her nothing but happiness."
JaNa Craig, 28, also took to her Instagram Story to share her perspective shortly after Kenny’s post. "Hi my loves. Thank you for all your love & support. It means the world to me. As you know, Kenny and I are no longer together," she wrote. She went on to address the various theories surrounding their split. "Please know that I have seen all the breakup theories and none have matched up to how terrible, disgusting and disappointing it truly is. Discovering that someone you loved isn't who you thought they were and that the relationship you thought you were building hasn't been genuine since day one has been truly devastating."
JaNa concluded her message with a sense of peace. "Thank you for respecting my privacy and please know as a child of God, I will always be okay."
Fans began to speculate about the couple's separation when they noticed that JaNa had unfollowed Kenny on social media. This action was mirrored by other Love Island USA season 6 cast members, including Serena Page and Leah Kateb, as well as Serena’s boyfriend Kordell Beckham and Leah’s partner Miguel Harichi.
JaNa first appeared on Love Island USA Season 6 in June 2024. She initially connected with Coye Simmons and Connor Newsum before ultimately forming a bond with Kenny. Their relationship continued after the show ended, even though they faced the challenges of long-distance.
In an interview on "The Viall Files" podcast in July 2024, JaNa discussed her plans to maintain the relationship. "I don't want to move [to Dallas] right away. I think we could do our own thing, change our work schedules so we can spend time [and do], like, a year of visiting each other - or less maybe - but me moving to Dallas right now would be crazy," she said.
She added, "He leaves [Los Angeles, where the podcast episode was taped], today and I'm so sad! It was like, ‘Oh, we're gonna be good and FaceTime all the time.' But knowing that I'm [here] until Tuesday and he's leaving today, I was like, ‘This sucks because we spent every day together for the past month and a half.' It's like, we're naturally best friends and partners. For him to leave, it's super sad."
JaNa later reflected on her relationship with Kenny ahead of their one-year anniversary in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly in June. "You know what's so crazy? When it first came out, it didn't hit me. The first six months outside the villa, I don't think it hit me. But now that it's settled down and season 7 is coming, I was like, ‘My gosh, I did that last summer.'"
Their relationship was also explored in "Beyond the Villa," which is currently airing season 1 on Peacock. The show provides a deeper look into the lives of the Love Island USA contestants beyond the villa, offering fans a more comprehensive view of their personal journeys.
